Smunk's height is a huge advantage on corner kicks as his flying header attempts are quickly becoming legendary at Beaufort.

"He just has a knack," Greenlee said.

Mozzo's calm under pressure was a big key to his success last season. In Beaufort's two shootout wins in region play last year, Mozzo didn't allow a single goal.

With Beaufort's defense taking a hit because of graduation, Mozzo will be asked to do a little more this season

"We had a tremendous defense last year (and) lost a lot of those guys to graduation," Greenlee said. "Most importantly, Erik is there. His leadership is back."

Returning starters Matt Stewart, Nash Brace and Ashby West will provide support for Smunk, Jaramillo and Mozzo.

The versatile Stewart could be used on defense or play more of an offensive position.

For Clinton, Ohio and Texas become key states to win

Let's get a fresh face, a new face, a new agenda to turn around the negative vibes the republican and the experience that came with it, has gotten us into.

Not to get off the subject but look at all these kid geniuses in the world who are going to college at the age of 10, getting the PH. D's at the age of 12 and getting jobs. But they too are inexperienced and young, but we are not holding them back because of their age and inexperince. So let's give Obama a chance let's see what he can do and if you don't like what he does, then do vote him back in, in the next four years.

Knights play it cool in pressure of playoffs

He dribbled around the top of the key then, with the clock winding down, calmly drove the lane and banked in a five-foot runner for the final two of his game-high 19-points to give the Knights a two-point lead.

"We have a play called 'four down'. It's designed to allow the point to take the ball down to the basket," said Brunello. "The point guard works the top of the key. The big men move out from under the basket and take the post defense with them. That clears out the lane so it's easier to penetrate. I tried to stay composed and just ran the play. It worked out well."

But there were still six seconds on the clock. Six seconds for the packed house to hold its collective breath. Alhambra had time for one final shot.

The Moor's Allen raced the length of the court and put up a desperation three that banged off the back of the rim - no good - and St.

War of the Wheels: Bicyclists vs Drivers

News 4 gets complaints all the time from drivers just sick of having to work around hoards of bicyclists taking over the streets and highways. We also hear from bicyclists scared for their lives because of impatient drivers. As News 4's Ryan O'Donnell explains, it is an all-out war on wheels.

"I've probably been hit, probably total of eight times," says cyclist Aidan Vasquez.

News 4 talked with several San Antonio cyclists who have had near misses.

"I've had oranges thrown at me from cars coming towards me." adds cyclist Robert Dodd.

Cyclist Lloyd Hensley says he's had plenty of objects thrown at him. "You know, bottles or eggs or you know, what have you."

Several San Antonio drivers are also sharing their stories of road rage.

If not an ATV, how about these gifts?

With Christmas on the way and you already aware that purchasing a new 3/4-ton, 4-wheel-drive pickup truck for your outdoors man or woman is out of the question, here are some less-expensive, but nice items that any hunter, angler and all-around wildlife lover will enjoy.

Titanium bifocal sunglasses — If I lost the polarized sunglasses that I now use for all my fishing — especially when there are knots to be tied and I need to see clearly up close while being shaded from harsh sunlight — I'd have what my children call a hissie fit. My indispensable "shades" are the Ono's Trading Company's new gray lens (other lens colors are available), ultra-light titanium-framed sunglasses. The sunglasses feature magnifying bifocals with 1.50, 2.00 or 2.50 power (I use 2.00) positioned below eye level so they won't interfere with distance vision.

Mementos of MLK's secretary up for sale

Now most of those items are for sale in a real antiques shop, Paris on Ponce, a rambling emporium in a former mattress factory near City Hall East in Midtown Atlanta.

"These things were precious to Dora," says Latimore, taking a seat in a corner of the floor reserved for McDonald's possessions: tables and chairs and marble-topped furniture and gilt-framed mirrors and dozens of plates and cups blossoming with pink floral patterns.

"She liked her flowers, that's for sure," says shop employee Shane Garner.

McDonald's image smiles from a 1969 newspaper article displayed on an easel. It shows her at home with many of these same treasures, under the headline "Dinner With Dora."

"She never got married," Latimore says. "Dr. King told her that some people weren't supposed to get married, and she was one of them."

Latimore met McDonald in 1965 when she went to work for the King family as a baby sitter and later as personal assistant to Coretta Scott King.

Beijingers unmoved by spitting clampdown ahead of Olympics

Although there is now a wide consensus that spitting is ""uncivilized"" behavior, as pre-Olympics manners campaigns term it, spitting is still pretty much a trademark sight and sound across the country.

As bicycle attendant Guo Guiyou stands guard outside a busy Beijing railway station, he suddenly makes a loud coarse noise as he opens his mouth and propels a gobbet of spit on to the pavement.

""It's good to spit, it's good for your health,"" said the 40-year-old man unapologetically as he rubs his shoe over the foul puddle he has just created.

Even though the government has stepped up punishment for spitting, a possible fine of 50 yuan (seven dollars) does not deter Guo.

""That's okay -- most of the time, they don't see you,"" he said.

Young DM inventor snatches spotlight

A Des Moines boy got a nice bit of free national advertising for his latest invention - The Snatcher - when he appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last week.

Alek Luong's device, which he demonstrated on the daytime television talk show, is essentially a wide box with teeth that attaches to the front of a lawn mower. The box has wheels, and as the wheels turn, brushes push items such as dog poop, golf balls and walnuts into the box.

"The idea is to pick up things before they get to the lawn mower," said Alek, a fifth-grader at Lawson Elementary School in Johnston.
